Squads: train together, compete as a team

A squad is a named group inside OneMoreDay. You create one, invite people by searching for them by name, and they accept or decline. Once a squad exists it becomes a unit that can take on other squads, share assigned work, and chase a goal together.

Squad versus squad

Team challenges pit one squad against another. One squad is the challenger and the other is the opponent, and the opponent side accepts or declines the match.

Scoring is a straight pool: every member's individual progress on the chosen metric is summed into a single team total. If your squad has five people walking and the other has five people walking, the team with the higher combined step count wins. Nobody is carried invisibly and nobody's effort is discarded, each member's contribution lands directly in the team number.

Because the team score is a sum, squads of different sizes are not automatically fair. Match squads of similar size, or use a consistency-style metric where showing up matters more than raw volume.

A squad working toward one goal

Not every squad challenge has to be adversarial. Together mode points the whole group at one combined outcome, a shared distance, a shared number of completed missions, a shared streak. The group either gets there or it does not, and everyone's contribution counts toward the same total.

Coaches and assigned work

A squad is also how coaching works in practice. A coach can assign workouts to the squad, and members accept, decline, or complete them. The coach sees what was actually finished rather than chasing individual chat threads. Coaches can also spin up squads and clubs to run group programs.

Squad badges

Squad challenge results are recorded, and members can see the challenge badges they have earned. Winning as a team leaves a permanent mark on your profile, not just a number that resets next week.

Finding people

You can search for other OneMoreDay users to invite to a squad or a challenge. Discovery is opt-in: you choose whether you appear to people looking for players with similar goals, and blocked users never surface in search, rankings, or invitations.
